Swimming

I do swimming every Monday and Wednesday, and I want to tell you a little bit about what exactly I do in each class. There are some things I like, and some things I don't. Here are some examples of a few things I love to do in the pool.

  1. Freestyle
  2. Rings
  3. Glides
Now let me tall you a little bit about each activity.

Freestyle

First up, freestyle. I love doing freestyle in class because I enjoy the freedom that comes with being able to swim fast. Another reason I love doing freestyle is because I am good at it. In a single breath, I can go about half of the pool's distance. Of course, as all things one is good at, there is still room to improve, and for me, that is learning how to breathe efficiently in the pool. Learning breathing techniques is extremely important in swimming because it allows you to swim longer distances without stopping and helps build your stamina. I look forward to learning ways to breathe easily while swimming and finally swimming the whole pool's distance!

Rings

Throwing and diving for rings is another one of my favorite things to do in class. I especially like throw the rings as far away from me as I can, so when I get to the rings, they are almost fully submerged. Plus, it gives me some more freestyle time! Another reason I love diving for rings is because I love diving in the pool in general. In fact, I start every class by diving, touching the floor of the pool, and resurfacing to a back float.

Glides

I love dliding because there is no force I have to exert while I am moving. After the first push off the wall, the momentum does the work, pushing away water and propelling me forward. A quick push with my feet, and I glide effortlessly for about a quarter pool's length. And when I go back to the wall, I can freestyle!

All in all, going swimming is a pleasurable and enjoyable learning experience for me, and I am always excited to go back to the pool to swim.
